12 x 12 Gift Box

I'm so excited...I was on Stampin' Ups website checking out the Deal of the Week and found the instructions for this gift box. Love it! I made one for a baby shower, which is the perfect size for a little outfit or some onesies, socks & booties. I love the fact I no longer have to purchase greeting cards and now, I can save money with this gift box...no wrapping paper, boxes or gift bags to purchase. All it takes is (2) sheets of 12x12 cardstock, some ribbon and in 5 minutes I had a darling package.

Here's the instructions:

2 - sheets of 12" x 12" cardstock

For the bottom:

  1. Cut 1/16" off 2 opposite sides of your cardstock. This will ensure the bottom is a smidgen smaller and the top will fit.
  2. Score at 2-3/4" and again at 9-1/4"
  3. Rotate and score at 2-3/4" and 9-1/4"
  4. Cut on 2 score lines to where the scores intersect, then repeat on the opposite side.
  5. Adhere flaps to inside of box with Sticky Strip. Snail does not hold very well if there's much weight in the box.

For the Top:

  1. Same as for the bottom, except do not cut the cardstock. Use the full 12" x 12" sheet.
  2. Score at 2-3/4" and again at 9-1/4"
  3. Rotate and score at 2-3/4" and 9-1/4"
  4. Cut on 2 score lines to where the scores intersect, then repeat on the opposite side.
  5. Adhere flaps to inside of box with Sticky Strip. Snail does not hold very well if there's much weight in the box.

Add some tissue paper and your gift, tie with ribbon and make a cute little tag. This would be gorgeous for a wedding gift using the new Wedding cardstock Stampin Up just came out with and tie with a satin ribbon. I may use the new In Color cardstock for another box for a child's birthday party, or Christmas and fill with some home baked treats...I think I'll be making a lot of these. I hope you try one too.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Oops. ..I almost forgot to mention that the finished size of the box is 6-3/8" square and 2-3/4" deep.
