Magic Reindeer Food

What a week. Tuesday night I get home from work at 6 pm and my son informs me he needs an elf costume for the Christmas pageant the next day. Yikes! I head to the fabric store and at 1 am...wa-la...his elf costume is complete. I need to post a picture of it...turned out cute. The Christmas pageant on Wednesday was awesome! Tonight was our Cub Scout Christmas party. Arrive home at 8:30 and start making 21 packs of Magic Reindeer Food for his class party on Friday....3 hrs. later wa-la...here's what I came up with. It's difficult to see in the photos, but I used the Dasher stamp on the cello bags. They're not fancy, but I think the children will like them and it will be the last year I'll be able to send these to school. Next year is 5th grade and it won't be cool : )

Magic Reindeer Food 2

Here's the poem I used:

Be sure to take this magic food and sprinkle on the lawn,
On Christmas, Santa's reindeer travel miles before the dawn.
The smell of oats and glitter path will guide them on their way
And you'll wake up to Santa's gifts next morn on Christmas Day!

Many recipes for Magic Reindeer Food call for craft glitter, which can harm birds or wildlife if ingested. For safety, substitute colored sugar crystals and be kind to animals.

Thanks for stopping by!
