At the last minute I chose to make 20+ of these little baskets using the Bigz XL Baskets & Blooms die, for my sons class. The DSP is Shades of Spring from the Occasions Mini, available until April 30th. I think this paper is absolutely gorgeous. The photo in the catalog does not do it justice. I debated about ordering it and now I'm so glad that I did.
Luckily, these baskets are fast and easy, because I need them to send to school tomorrow. Here's a couple more photos before I filled them with crinkled paper and added Hershey eggs, kisses and rabbits. The kids will be on a chocolate sugar high tomorrow : )
My husband asked me tonight why I do this for Jacob's class every holiday (and I've been doing this for years). My answer was, I remember what it's like to be that age and how good it felt when someone did or gave something nice to me. It made me feel special. I love holidays and why not share that love with a child. Some of the children may think it's nothing more than a little paper and chocolate, but if it makes one of them feel special or brightens their day. ..than it's worth it to me. Basically, that's all it is; a little paper, a little chocolate and a little of my time. Plus, it makes me feel good.
