Valentine Pop-Up Matchbox

When the recipient opens this treat box, they will be greeted by a pop-up heart!

Here's how I did it:
  1. Cut out box & tag in Early Expresso CS (119686) with Matchbox Bigz Die (114890) , Big Shot (113439) and Extended Cutting Pads (113478).
  2. Emboss the lid (2-9/16" x 6-1/2") using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (117335) leaving the 1/4" tab exposed, since this will not be seen when the box is assembled.
  3. Fold an all the score lines and assemble the box base.
  4. On the 2-9/16" x 6-1/2" CS, apply adhesive on the 1/4" tab that is not embossed. Fold this piece over box and adhere.
  5. Tie Chocolate Chip 5/8" satin ribbon (124327) on lid.
  6. Using the Full Heart Punch (119883) and Real Red Brights DSP and punch 3 hearts. Fold 2 hearts in half and apply small amount of adhesive on each fold and layer all 3. Attach to lid with glue dot.
  7. Stamp "Happy Valentine's Day" from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (115370) in Early Expresso Ink (119670) and punch with the Word Window punch (119857). Layer on Early Expresso tag.
  8. Punch hole on top of tag with Crop-A-Dile (108362) thread a piece of Linen Thread (104199) thru hole and tie onto lid.
  9. To make the pop-up heart, using the 1-3/8" circle punch (119860), punch circle in Early Expresso CS. Using Paper Snips (103579), cut circle into a spiral. Begin on the outside and cut around & around to the middle, making the spirals approx. 1/8" wide. Attach to inside center of the box with a mini glue dot. Place another mini glue dot to the top of the spiral in the center.
  10. Stamp "Friend" heart image from the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set (118571) in Versamark (102283) on Real Read CS (102482) and heat emboss using Clear Embossing Powder (109130) and Heat Tool (100005), then punch using Full Heart Punch (119883). Sponge edges of heart in Early Expresso Ink (119670). Attach to center of the spiral.
  11. Add candy and gently pull up on spiral, so it will "Spring Into Action" when the box is opened.
