Thank You with Aluminun Foil Flower

Happy Monday Friends!

Ink and color are basic ingredients for any stamping project, and with many choices for ink, refills, markers, pens, and pastels available, you're sure to find the color you need from Stampin' Up! The flower on this card was made out of aluminum foil.

Here's how I did it:
  1. Cut a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil and adhere to to Basic Gray card stock (this helps the flower keep its shape and prevents tearing)
  2. Use bone folder to smooth wrinkles
  3. Emboss using the Fancy Fan Folder
  4. Gently cover the surface with Midnight Muse &  Basic Gray Classic Ink
  5. Let dry or set with Heat Tool Ink
  6. While ink is still will, cover surface with Clear Emboss Powder and heat emboss (this step is needed since I used Classic ink)
  7. Punched flower using the Fancy Flower Punch
  •  Stampin' Up!'s revolutionary pads feature a patented, flip-top design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist. Our award-winning Classic inks feature our popular, fast drying, dye-based inks. Dye-based inks are generally much stronger than pigment-based inks and can produce much more color. The dyes are dissolved in the liquid phase, so they soak into paper.

Video: Mini Purse Treat Box

Hello Stampers!

Today I have a Mini Purse Treat Box to share with you. The idea for this project is from:  http://withastampandasong.blogspot.com/2010/10/ihp-2nd-birthday-bash.html.

Woudn't they make cute favors for a little girls birthday party? Plus, you could easily make them larger to hold a small gift or more treats:
  •  9" x 9" card stock
  • Scored at 3" & 6"
  •  7 - 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" Whisper White card stock
  • 7 - 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" Polka Dot Parade DSP

WHAT THE REFRESH LOOKS LIKE.
Q: What are the new core colors, and what are the In Colors that are returning as core colors?

A: The one new color is called Smoky Slate. The nine returning In Colors as core colors are Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Soft Sky, and Wisteria Wonder. Check out these colors displayed in their new collections!

The retiring colors will go quickly, so order your favorites now. As of April 12th,  our inventory of Not Quite Navy 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock (item 101722) has been depleted.

We are excited to introduce our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.

Empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalog on May 31. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets!

Aluminum Foil Technique

Today I'm sharing an aluminum foil technique.  It's super easy and gives your projects a "Wow" factor that is perfect for masculine cards. What man doesn't like shiny, metal objects?

Change the embossing folder and embellishments and turn it into a feminine card. This technique has lots of possibilities.

Here's how I did it:
  1. Cut a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil 3-3/4" x 5"
  2. Adhere to to Basic Black CS 3-3/4" x 5" dull side up (you can do it either way for a different look
  3. Use bone folder to smooth any wrinkles.
  4. Insert into embossing folder and run through the Big Shot
  5. Lay on scratch piece of paper and gently rub Black StazOn ink pad over foil, in circles until raised areas are coverd
  6. Let dry or set with Heat Tool & adhere to project

Thank You

 Hello Friends!

I'm loving this little stamp set, Clockworks (w-127290, c-127292), ever since I got to play with it at Regionals. I saw it in the catalog when it came out last year and thought, I'd probably never use that. Then I got to play with it and then I couldn't order it fast enough. It never ceases to amaze me when I look at paper or a stamp set and think, I don't really like it and then I see it in person and I love it. Does that ever happen to you?

Stamps: Clockworks
Paper: Whisper White, Basic GrayPool Party, Calypso Coral, First Edition Specialty
Ink: Basic Gray, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, More Mustard (retiring this year), Lucky Limeade
Tools / Accessories: Honeycomb Textured Embossing Folder, Big ShotFancy Flower Punch, Silver Brad
