Friends

Hello Friends!

On a personal note,  today was a very big day for me, my peers and our company. I work for American Water and our company has been going through a business transformation. We're changing all of our software. It's been 3 years of planning, designing, building and training. Today was our "go-live" and it went very well!  I wanted to share that with you, since lately I haven't been blogging. The last several weeks have been extremely hectic. Hopefully, my life will return to normal soon : )

Stamping, scrapbooking and paper crafting is my stress reliever. I enjoy playing with inks and trying different techniques, so today's card:
  •  I sponged Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede & Always Artichoke onto Very Vanilla card stock for the background.
  • Stamped the image from Elements of Style stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed using Early Espresso embossing powder.
  • Quick & easy...that's how I roll.

What I Want for Mother’s Day

No project today, but I thought this  was too cute not to share.

Dear Children,

Mother’s Day is coming up, and I thought I should tell you what I want. This way there’s no guilty panic or last minute purchasing of flowers at the closest gas station. So, this is what I want, this year and every year after; it’s pretty simple really.

I want you to be a decent human being.

I want you to be who you are, but don’t be a jerk.

I want you to work hard at everything you do, because life is too short not to give it everything you’ve got.

I want you to ask for help when you need it.

I want you to help others when they need it.

I want you to learn how to cook, do your own laundry, pay your bills and know how to clean a bathroom.

When you screw up, and you will, more than once, I want you to own it, because it’s the screw-ups that make the victories sweeter.

I want you to travel, because the world is huge and you are one part of it.

I want you to know that even when we hate each other, I will never stop loving you.

I want you to play nicely with others.

I want you to feed your curiosity.

I want you to find a way to do what you love, and realize that that might look different than you originally thought.

I want you to respect every human being’s right to be who they are.

I want you to sometimes be more interested in someone else than in yourself.

I want you to know that you are flawed and you are extraordinary. There is no one else like you.

I want you to know that I would lay down my life for you any day of the week.

I want you to realize how lucky you are every once in awhile even if only for an instant.

I want you to know love, even if it means getting hurt.

I want you to relax and not feel guilty about it.

I want you to know life can be brutally hard sometimes.

I want you to know that you can choose happiness even when the dark side offers you cookies.

And I wouldn’t mind breakfast in bed.

See, simple.

Love,

Mom

Happy Mother's Day!

We recently updated the MDS software with some important fixes and enhancements. You can see a full list here. The next time you're using MDS and connected to the Internet, it will update automatically with these changes.

One of the updates will improve the MDS software installation process by resolving issues with antivirus software and power settings on the user's computer. Please note that the time it takes to download the installation file (.dmg or .exe) will be longer, but the overall process time should not increase because the actual installation will be much quicker.

And once you've updated your software, check out the sale and get 25% off select digital products until June 15.

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
