PPA 209 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday Friends!

Time for a Sketch Challenge at Pals Paper Arts. Nicole Watt has created this fun sketch for us to play with this week. It's perfect for decorative or clean and simple designs. I hope you play along with us.  I always enjoy seeing what you create!

I needed a birthday card quick, so I kept my design simple.
  • The new Moonlight DSP paper stack # 133701 is awesome! It has 48 double sided sheets 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", comes in gorgeous colors and wide variety of designs for stress-free projects.
  • The flower was made with the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set (wood) #128442 or (clear) 125537 and Blossom Punch #125603. It's my go-to set for an easy flower.
  1. Stamp flower image 3 times and punch out using Blossom Punch.
  2. Snip each petal (1/4") towards the center. This will make them easier to curl.
  3. Roll each petal around paint brush handle to curl petals.
  4. Assemble each flower placing a Stampin' Dimensional #104430 in the center of each or use liquid glue.
  5. Poke hole using Paper Piercer # 126189 & insert Antique Brad #117273  in the center.
  6. Lightly sponge petals in coordinating ink.
  7. Tie a loose bow with new Whisper White Seam Binding #134573.
  8. Adhere bow to card front and attach flower on top.

Have a great week!

PPA 207 - Happy Father's Day

Hello sweet friends!

It's time for another color challenge at Pals Paper Arts! This week we have a very patriotic color combination for you to try; Real Red, Midnight Muse & Whisper White. Midnight Muse is retired, so Night of Navy can easily be substituted.

  • Anchors away! With a nautical and historical feel, the images in The Open Sea set give the excitement of discovering a new world.
  • The photo below is a peek inside. My husband will appreciate the nautical theme for Father's Day. He and I use to be boat people, but all that changed when I became pregnant with our son. It was time to start a new chapter in our lives, so first we sold our boat we kept docked at the marina on Kentucky Lake, beautiful area! Then later we sold the ski boat. No regrets, but we do miss the people, anchoring in a cove for the weekend and spending relaxing vacations with great friends.
  • The Deco Labels and Circle Framelits make cutting stamped images and creating  layers  a breeze!
  • Need a teeny tiny little greeting on something? You'll love the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. It contains 24 wishes to cover pretty much every occasion.

Stamp Review Crew - Everything Eleanor

Welcome to this months Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop! Tomorrow is the big day. Stampin' Up! launches the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog and this gorgeous set; Everything Eleanor Edition is in there as well.

  • Two of the new In-Colors; Mossy Meadow & Hello Honey are so rich and regal.
  • This stamp set has delicate floral embellishments, frames, and flourishes--the perfect mix for your projects with vintage flair.

  • To make the flower:
I sponged Mossy Meadow & Hello Honey onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Stamping Sponges. Stamped the flower image in Mossy Meadow Ink and using my Paper Snips, cut out the flower. To give the flower a little something-something, I covered it in VersaMark Ink, Clear Embossing Power and  melted the embossing powder with a Heat Tool.
