PPA 294 - a sketch challenge

It's Thursday and time for another sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts. This grand sketch was created by the very talented Dawn Tidd. The possibilities are endless with this sketch; go clean and simple or layer it up with embellishments.

  • I love flowers and I especially enjoy making them. The Botanical Builder Framelits Dies makes it so easy. Below, I highlighted in red, the dies I used:
  • I cut out 2 of each petal in Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. I then used the McGill Paper Blossom Roller to shape the petals to add dimension and glued pieces together.
  • The small leafs were cut out using the Flower Fair Framelits. Below, I highlighted the die I used in red:
  • I glued this gorgeous Sahara Sand Lace Trim to a piece of White Jute Ribbon.
  • TIP: The White Jute Ribbon is so versatile. It's 1-1/4" wide, but if your needing 1" ribbon, you can shrink it 1/4" with the heat tool or you can easily separate the layers and use the individual ribbons.

PPA 292 - a sketch challenge

The sketch for this weeks challenge, at Pals Paper Arts, was created by me. I thought it would be fun and a challenge with all the different layers. I hope you enjoy this weeks sketch and play along with us. I'd love to see your creations!

  • To create the flower I used the Flower Fair Framelits. I cut out 2 of the 5-petal flower in DSP and 2 of the smaller 5 petal flower in Whisper White Card Stock.

  • I wrapped each petal around the handle of a small paint brush and attached the two layers.
  • For the center, I cupped the two flowers around the end of the paint brush and attached them together. Very quick and easy for a sweet little flower.

Pals Blog Hop - Spring Has Sprung

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring Spring and Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

  • When I think of Spring, I think of pretty pastel colors, so I used Love Blossoms DSP Paper Stack from the Occasions Catalog. It contains such a beautiful mix of flowers and patterns.

  • To make the flowers I used the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. You can create die-cut blooms and leaves in seconds with Framelits dies and the Big Shot. Framelits’ open design allows you to place them where you want for precise cutting.

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!
