PPA 286 - a sketch challenge

Our featured sketch designer this week at Pals Paper Arts is Linda Callahan. I adore her flawless creations. Hop on over to check out her gorgeous card and the rest of my team members. I know you will be inspired to play along with us this week.

Have you seen the Love Blossoms suite in the Occasions Catalog? Isn't it gorgeous! If you haven't seen it and would like a catalog, send me an email ( with your name and mailing address and I'll send it to you. Plus, during Sale-A-Bration you earn free products for every $50 purchase. This is the best sale of the year.
For my project I used the Bloomin' Love stamp set and Love Blossoms DS Paper Stack. You get 48 sheets for $8 and to me, that's a great value. Love, love, love the colors; Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Rose Red and Whisper White.

Over the years I have tried various distressing tools and even an electric one and I didn't really care for any of them. The paper always looked more tormented than distressed. Then recently, I used my Paper Snips and I was so surprised at the results. I don't why it never occurred to me before, so I thought I would share that in case you were like me and wanted the distressed look but had troubles achieving it. If you're in need of a good pair of sharp scissors, try Stampin' Up! Paper Snips, you won't be disappointed. They are item #103579.

PPA 282 - sketch challenge

I hope you had a wonderful holiday! We're back at Pals Paper Arts with all new sketch and color challenges for 2016. This weeks awesome sketch was created by Mary Fish at Stampin Pretty

Get out your paper crafting supplies and play along with us this week! I love seeing your creations.

I used all new products from the Occasions Catalog that went just live this week and some free products from Sale-A-Bration. It has so many beautiful products this year! Have you seen it? If you would like a catalog, send me an email:
  • The sentiment is from the stamp set called What I Love. It's a lovely stamp set and I got it free with a $50 purchase .
  • The background patterned paper is from Going Places DSP Stack and the paper for the flower is from Botanical Gardens.
  • The flower was so easy to make using the new Botanical Builder Framelit Dies.
    •  I cut out 2 each of the 5 petal flower dies.
    • I then used the McGill Paper Blossom Tool and outlined each petal and layered them together with liquid glue.
    • To finish the flower, I gave the petals a light sponging in Basic Black Ink.

 Have a great week!

PPA 281 - sketch challenge

We have a sketch challenge this week for you at Pals Paper Arts. Mine is a Christmas card, because I'm still making them...all the way up to Christmas Eve! They are my favorite kind of card to make.

Did you notice the new blog banner?  Two days before Christmas, a thousand things left to do,  I take a break from cleaning, cooking, wrapping and decide to re-vamp my blog! I even changed platforms today and then changed everything back...yikes! What was I thinking? Yes, I'm impulsive and yes, I get side tracked very easily :)  After Christmas, I'll finish the changes, so everything is neat and tidy (er).

  • For the sentiment, I used Endless Wishes. It's a lovely little stamp set with every perfect greeting for Christmas.
  • The DSP is Merry Moments. I love the colors; Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Whisper White.

  • The accessories are from the Home for Christmas collection in the Holiday Catalog. The colors and the shapes of the buttons are so cute!
  • The Gold Cording  is my favorite. It ties beautifully!

I wish you and your family a very, merry Christmas!
